Bone Broth

Born in the Green Mountains of Vermont, Maison Plas Bone Broth brings a chef's approach to everyday nourishment. Crafted with locally sourced ingredients, including produce grown on our own farm, our chef-developed chicken bone broth is carefully prepared to deliver exceptional depth of flavor, collagen, protein, and essential nutrients.

Whether enjoyed as a savory alternative to your morning coffee, an après-ski ritual, or a comforting moment by the fire, our bone broth offers warmth, convenience, and nourishment in every cup. Available from our mobile horse trailer, at local farmers markets, and frozen by the quart to enjoy at home, it's a nourishing, sippable soup made for life on the go.

Sustainability is central to everything we do. From supporting Vermont farmers and incorporating regenerative agricultural practices to choosing compostable packaging and finding creative ways to minimize waste, we're building a thoughtful connection between our farm, our kitchen, and our community.

We begin with locally sourced chicken and a blend of local and organic ingredients traditionally valued for their medicinal properties, including onions, garlic, turmeric, black pepper, bay leaves, apple cider vinegar, and sea salt. Each batch takes a full day to prepare, maximizing collagen, protein, essential nutrients, and depth of flavor.

Our base broth is the foundation for specialty flavors including Parmesan, Fire Cider, Roasted Garlic, Smoked Tomato, Calabrian Chili, and Thai Curry, incorporating ingredients from our farm whenever possible.

At the end of each batch, the remaining ingredients are composted to nourish our garden and future harvests, completing the cycle from farm to cup and back again.

The Benefits of Bone Broth

Bone broth is more than a warming cup—it’s dense with nutrients and backed by emerging research.

  • Gut Health & Digestive Support
Bone broth contains amino acids like glutamine and glycine, which may support intestinal barrier integrity and reduce inflammation in the gut. Harvard Health+3PubMed+3Healthline+3
In animal studies, consumption of bone broth reduced inflammation markers and mitigated damage in models of ulcerative colitis. PMC

  • Anti-Inflammatory Properties
The amino acids found in bone broth—including glycine and arginine—have been shown in some studies to exhibit anti-inflammatory effects. Healthline+2Cleveland Clinic+2

  • Joint, Bone, and Muscle Support
Bone broth is derived from collagen and connective tissues, which break down into gelatin and provide amino acids beneficial for connective tissues. MD Anderson Cancer Center+4Cleveland Clinic+4Healthline+4
It also contains minerals like calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus—although in modest amounts—that contribute to bone health. MD Anderson Cancer Center+2Harvard Health+2

  • Protein and Amino Acid Content
Compared with many conventional broths, bone broth often contains higher protein content—typically around 8–10 grams per cup in many recipes. Harvard Health+2Healthline+2
The specific breakdown depends on cooking time, bones used, and added ingredients. Harvard Health+1

  • Skin, Sleep, and Nervous System Benefits
The glycine in bone broth may support sleep, brain function, and stress regulation. Healthline+2Cleveland Clinic+2
Collagen-derived compounds may play a role in maintaining skin elasticity and hydration (though evidence is still emerging). Cleveland Clinic+2National Geographic+2
